Ghost Recon 3

Hey sleeper, I have a 7800GT GS. Weird that you have all those issues.

I suppose the only thing you could do is wait for a patch. Any other new games having similar issues or is it only GR3?

firslty i think you need to realise that your machine is not high spec

3200+
1 gig ram
2 6600gt is not high spec

try amd 4000+ upwards
2 gig or more ram
2 7800/7900's

thats a super high spec pc

you need more ram for sure

lol... killadoob... the way you are going is going to scare anybody from buying the game. :p

lol all im saying is games of today you cannot sit with little ram you need alot

ram is really cheap now as well hehe

i got a 6600gt and 2 gig ram and everything runs so smooth

but take out a 1 gig stick and bf 2 gets really jerky laggy type thing

BF2 is a mother of a hog even on ADSL... :p

i am sitting with 1GB of RAM and thus far PC tweaking and memory management has made me quite happy with it.

GRAW does push the enveloper far but not impossible with an average PC if you tweak the settings and dont enable overzealous settings in the game.

to be honest, i am not going to upgrade my PC anymore. Got me a X360 just for those games like Oblivion which demand a high-spec PC.

cost for a 7900GTX = >R5000
cost for a X360 Premium = R4300 at Prophecy

a HDTV or at least a progressive scan capable TV set is a requirement for a good visual experience with the X360 but who doesnt have a BIG TV nowadays in their living room?

can u play online games with an xbox 360?

yep!

have had it for less than a week and busy with E3 demos and trailers every evening.

even BF2 is playable online via LIVE. ;)

Yes, I realize that the upgrade might have to come sooner than what I originally planned.

Does the extra 1GB really make such a big difference ? And, OUCH !! RAM is not all that cheap ! Corsair® 512MB XMS Low Latency -> R 1,158.81... and I need 2 of those...Damn! I should have picked cheaper RAM when I orignially bought the machine...

for most recent games having 2GB does make a difference in loading times.

but yeah, like you saw the prices arent really a walk in the park either. i only have 1GB of Corsair XMS CL2 ( 2x512MB ) and dont need more for now.

well i got 2 stick of corsair value select

its makes a big difference

firstly you can up your aperture size to 256 or 512 meg which helps alot

i think that having 2 gig corsair value select is better than 1 gig corsair xms
