Douglas Gibson has been appointed as South African Ambassador and Plenipotentiary to the President - how Ironic - Gibson will now speak for the President

WTF is that? Plote... what?:D

You got a link or some thing?

Old news.

Sounds like the ANC couldn't handle his criticisms in parliament and decided to get him on board.

Mind you, embassador is more a civil service role than a political one.

Just be grateful that it is somewhere like Thailand - a limited threat should they decide to invade us after experiencing Douglas Gibson for any amount of time :p

Plenipotentiary : a person, esp. a diplomatic agent, invested with full power or authority to transact business on behalf of another.

IOW : Whatever Gibson says can be taken as though it comes out of the mouth of the President himself - all ambassadors / high commissioners etc. are plenipotentiaries

Um no. He resigned/didn't stand for (internal) reelection for his position. But thanks for the knee-jerk anyway.
SOURCE!

Yeah, right. He suddenly resigned without warning and just happened to get an invite to be ambassador straight after.
