Gigabyte GeForce 6600GT PCIe Cooling.

I take it your current is socket 939?
I'd leave it for now, a AthlonX2 4600+ is more than ample.

No real point getting new mb, cpu & ram when all you need is new gfx.

Time for an off topic post.

I've downloaded 3DMark06 and ran the test.
I got 1627 3DMARKS
I've read in a previous post that the mark are mostly for your Graphics Card but I wondered if my processor could boost it a bit. I was Wrong.

Thats all of it.

judging by your RAM you already have a socket AM2 motherboard :D ;)
Older sockets use DDR1

heh. yeah. guess i should just wait then. i'll save up some cash and get a nother 1gb of ram first.

Yeah, that low 3DMark score is almost certainly because your motherboard is seeing the card as a single 6600GT - so basically you only have access to half of its performance. Find someone with a compatible Gigabyte motherboard and sell that card to them, it's not doing you much good.
