Alright, so I finally built my awesome new PC this weekend. Unfortunately I wished I budgeted for a better GPU as it's ***.
The Gigabyte Gefore 8400GS vs Price is good, but the card ain't too good. It doesn't have a fan on it (just the heatsink) and runs at a crazy +-60 Degrees Celcius before you've even played a game.
It runs Unreal Tournament 3, Crysis and C&C3 (not too well, but it runs), but after 5 - 10 mins or so of playing the card causes my system to get a BSOD or freeze.
Why didn't these chops put a fan on the card? It would actually be a semi-decent card if it didn't have cooling issues.
I'm looking at spend much more cash on a GPU now. Something like a XFX nVidia GeForce 8600GT Extreme Edition - 256MB - PCI-E.
Current Specs:
Asus P5N32-E SLI Deluxe Mobo
Intel Core2Duo 3.0Ghz (E6850)
2GB DDRII 800Mhz RAM
250GB Seagate SATAII HDD
Gigabyte Geforce 8400GS (not recommended)
Windows XP
