How the Competition went DOWN:

Well we started off alright, Neo found our maxclock pretty early which was 4.6 for 8M superpi, this ranked us 6th, nothing we could do to improve, no amount of tweaking over what we already had would have helped because we were a whole 1.5 seconds away from the next position wich was 5th.. The leaders team Australia and team Taiwan were both running 5ghz.

3Dmark 2006 went down pretty good, we could only run 4.4ghz AFTER swapping to a NEW cpu, but it was just as bad, we got 29k which ranked us 3rd, not half bad for the crappy cpu, but no way we could catch 2nd (taiwan at 4.84ghz and 1st Aus at 4.9ghz). so we were happy with our 3rd but sad that we couldnt do anything about it.

Our system ram stable throughout the comp so our hardmodding and insulation held well, so its safe to say Neo and I were good racecar drivers in bad cars :P. But we work well as a team, we both love our roles. I will do the gpu's and manage temps / look after system while he is the brains controlling the bios /xp and clocking.

Big up's to Team Australia, they had the best cpu but they WERE the best team there by far, so its a well deserved win by them for sure.

Config:
Cpu: Intel core i7 965 ES (4.5ghz 06 :( )
Ram: Kingston 3x2gb Hyper X
PSU: Enermax Revolution 1050W + (our psu was Doa :P, thanks to zolkorn for gettng us a new one!)
Board: Gigabyte GA X58 UD4P
GPU's: 2x GTX 260 216 Ran in sLi (We had Hard mods on both cards and ln2 pots, cards ran fine till the end of competition, 870 core at -85 )
HDD: Intels newest and Fastest ssd, the windows loading screen never finished a 1/4th of the loadbar ;p

This is our System after it's had its Time (meaning after the comp :P)

I was very busy preparing prepping and partying so no time for photo's, now i realise why they take media with :)

Any questions about thailand or the comp will be highly appreciated! would love to chat :)

Stunning Cat!

Those frosty bits - surely the pc is severely screwed afterwards ??

1st Aus at 4.9ghz

Youch - impressive! Congrats for coming 3rd though.

Those frosty pics look neat. Any pics of the winners kit?

Now you can write us a dummies guide to overclocking your i7 :D

Well done guys!!!

Pity not everyone gets the same identical cpu's to work with. Luck of the draw due to fabrication process.
