I would like to know what your experiences are with the SilentPipe cooling system in some of Gigabyte graphics cards.

I'm looking to buy the Gigabyte® nVidia® GeForce 6600GT, 128MB 128Bit, D-SUB + DVI + VIVO, DirectX 9 + OpenGL, Dual RAMDACs, TurboForce, SLI, SilentPipe™ II

Though I do not know what to expect from such a revolutionary cooling system.

I dont have any personal experience with the card...
I can say it's probable that you could get a bit more bang for your buck with another card, but if you are looking for silence then this will do it for you....
Heres a review with Pros and cons at the end:

And heres a another review with the silent pipes on another card to solidify any suspicions you might have about the concept:

I wouldnt expect any disasters.
Hope this helps a little

I have the above mentioned card and it works well!

The score I got from 3dmark 2005 compared to the other guys (there is a thread here on that) was about 10% less though, but I don't know if that is anything to do with the silen pipe or it is just slower memory or something.

The card looks very solid by the way, and its size renders the adjacent slot unusable.

Rburley, maybe you should mention all the Pro's and Con's not just one con?

For me performance comes first

Have you heard of Omega Drivers?

Gah this is stoopid, it's a like an AMD vs. Intel war... it doesn't matter which is better (they're both very good). There will always be models that beat similar models of the competitor and VISA VERSA.

But at the end of the day the one who wins is the consumer... competition is gewd.

Well, few years back I wanted to buy one of those ATI all in wonder or something like that. I couldn't find anyone actually selling them, so I emailed the idiots at ATI with a question "Where I can buy your card in South Africa", I did that twice, I still have not response!

So if a company cannot ensure their product is readily available all around the world, and they won't even bother to answer when you ask them where to buy it, I am sorry but this company should be out of business!

Since then ATI is down the drain for me, I don't care how cheap/fast/better are they, I will buy nvidia!
