Git best practices

Hi all,

I moved to a new company and have had to learn git. Don't get me wrong I am loving it, however I need resources that will teach me git best practices. I would like to learn how to best handle the versioning of a large legacy application that has bugs that need to be fixed everyday and well as new features that are being added by other team members.

These bug fixes and new features need to be tested and then incorporated into the stable branch of the application continuously.

It's quite an interesting model there. I'm working (alone) on developing a fairly large (for one person) project, and I think it'd be useful to move to the model described, with some tweaks maybe
