gitHub or TortoiseSVN

With Git this wouldn't be a problem cos everyone has a copy of the whole repository. With Subversion this would have been a major stuff up cos only the server would have had the whole repository.

I know its not a problem with git.... ive been using git for ages, this was back in 1999 when git did not exist. And it wasnt subversin it was visual source safe.

but consider using Cloud TFS, its free for an unlimited amount of projects, however only 5 users there after you pay.

As a plus, it integrates with VS awesomely.

We use Unfuddle at our company. It has Hosted Git and SVN support + SSL on everything.

You can then try out Git and SVN and see which is better for your company's needs.
