I signed up for the service with a brand new SIM Card and after searching I found the following:

Order Received 2013-09-25 11:05
Request sent to MTN 2013-09-25 11:06
Unable to Provision 2013-09-25 11:15

No emails or other information, you've got to find it yourself!

Now I assume I'm going to be billed for a service that I can't use? I can't raise a 'Support Ticket' on your clientzone as there are no categories for mobile data!

Poor show!

No Jim, they do not - I spent over an hour on the phone only to be taken through the same steps over and over again. Then I got told that I would have to contact MTN to get the SIM provisioned!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Noticed the rep has been quiet as of lately and hasn't addressed this issue as yet.

OP, you did mention that you ordered a brand new sim card(meaning that afrihost would delivery free of charge) or are you using your existing sim card*mtn*?

Hi Richard

Not surprising - the rep hasn't bothered to get back to me since the 25th. I ordered a new Sim card from Afrihost and I suspect that I'm having the same problem that Jim is. (I got my Sim card on Monday and it is still not working.) Am phoning one last time and then I will give up and post warnings about this on Facebook, Twitter, Hello Peter, and wherever else I can think of.

Sorry about this, please PM me your info and I'll personally take a look at this.

This is now resolved.

My life expectancy shortened by three days trying to cope with brain dead staff... :wtf:

I'm really sorry this has taken so long :(
Please drop me a PM with your info so I can follow up on the timeline between our Support team and yourself.

@JimM I am glad things are now sorted out.

Hopefully you will receive free gigs for inconvenience caused :)

With new services like this tethering problems are bound to happen but once they master it over time things will work out of the box.

That excuse they mentioned is very unprofessional - seriously it is time for Afrihost to add ticket support for Afrihost mobile product on their clientzone that way relevant people who went for necessary training to assist and a dedicated number to afrihost mobile desk
