Hi there,

I was wondering how this unit GIZZU 8800MAH MINI DC UPS will perform with a Mikrotik Dynadish 5 and a Asus RT-AC1200G+ Router? Any one have experience with this unit? Or rather get something better? Would like to have atleast 2 hours running time.

The MikroTik consumes 9W, the AC1200G+ uses 6.5W (both according to quick Google searches).

There are 4x 2200mAh batteries in this DC Power bank (wouldn't necessarily call it a UPS). Not sure if those are 3.6 x 4 for 14.4V, either way if they are in series or parallel the Wh rating will remain the same.

From a quick calculation, given 100% (depth of discharge) on the batteries you should get roughly 31Wh, which will give you just about 2 hours in theory (31.68 / 15.5). I would not bank on getting 2 hours though, especially not long-term as the batteries age.

Someone else can correct me if I made a mistake somewhere.

In the meantime I got a Asus AC68U Router. I am just worried about the output of this Gizzu unit. I see that the Asus router is 19V, 1.75A. But this Gizzu only supplies 19V, 2A if I read correctly. So what setting here should I use then?

Also with the Mikrotik DynDish I would like to power with the POE then, but honestly not sure which settings to select without breaking something here.

Any advice?

A standard 12V 7Ah GEL battery will put out 42Wh at 50% discharge which is 25% more than the Gizzu unit. If one is willing to shorten the life of the lead acid battery then at 80% DoD you would get 67Wh which is more than double the runtime of the Gizzu unit. These units aren't really designed for hours of load shedding. They should be in the 20000mAh range to be really useful.

Except the power bank will last longer as it's not lead acid.
 
Have a look at the uniterm micro ups range. They have some great options for this type of thing

Hi guys.

So I just got me one of these Gizzu units and looking at my CPE and Router the voltages differ - CPE = 12V and Router = 9V.
There's only one cable that goes into the unit which then splits into two.

So now on what voltage setting do I set the Gizzu unit?
Or do I need to get a 12V router so that CPE and router are both the same voltage?
 
I think the Ratel 860P is a much better buy than the Gizzu if one needs multiple voltage outputs. USB, 5V, 9V, 12V, 15V PoE, 24V PoE.
Saves money and space on voltage converters, wires, plugs, etc.

All it misses is 48V 802.3af/at PoE but I can accept that as most consumers don't run enterprise wireless access points at home.
