Gizzu GPS300 Charging

Hi,

I see the specs on the Gizzu GPS300 show as follows:
  • Charging Times:
    • AC Adapter: 18V/3A (6.5hrs)
    • DC Car Charger: 12V (9.5hrs)
    • DC Solar Panel: 60W (6.5hrs)
    • PD Port: 45W (7.5hrs)
    • AC Adapter + PD Port: 18V/3A + 45W (3.5hrs)
My question is, can I use my 65W laptop charger to charge this via the PD Port?
Is the PD Port on this device "smart" enough to only pull what it needs or is there a risk of damaging the power station?

Most Lithium cells will handle 0.5c 2hrs charging or lets say 0.25c 4hrs charging

You can charge batteries from two sources

Can this item charge from two sources doubt any manufacturer will say yea go for it

Even if it does work ie charge from both you have to wonder ,will it be able to dissipate the extra heat ?

What is the voltage the PD port designed to handle?

If it is the 19v the laptop charger will put out , i doubt it will charge faster , ie most charging ports behave like a buck converter ie they just take what you put in and throttle it to what it is designed to charge at unless it isn't and migic smoke escapes

ie kinda like putting 4500w panels on a 4000w controller you never get more than 4000w

Max Power: 65W
Input: 100V-240V, 1.8A, 50-60Hz
Output: 20V - 3.25A, 15V-3A, 9V-2A, 5V-2A,
Connector: USB-C

I am not familiar with the gizzu
And wasn't aware of what the PD port is hence the remark

As far as i have it there is signaling via cable and the charger and device will find common ground

Normally the output of the charger doesn't matter

ie example you can power a laptop that requires 65w with a 180w charger , it will only pull what it needs the charger will run cooler though as it won't be working hard

The same may apply here you may no get faster charging using a higher wattage input

So yea i would go with tomtomtom , first charging session with dual charging i would just keep an eye on it and listen and smell anything odd i would go back to single charging
