I need some basic help...Will one of these mini UPS's keep my CCTV system on? If yes, which size? I see there is 30W, 60W etc

I have attached photos of the back of the cctv dvr with all the wires and stuff

But now second question, what goes into the back of the Gizzu UPS from my CCTV setup?

How does the UPS work for the this cctv setup-which plugs need to go where. Yes I need that kind of basic instruction.

Thank you

Didn't you have a proper inverter?

it died just now, it was a modified ups that I was using with a gel battery. It just died on me and its also been a schlep as we have to unplug it from the gel battery when power comes back on and plug it back into mains and vice versa when loadshedding starts. It lasted me for an entire year

Okay, assuming it had a 100Ah battery, that was 1200Wh, the Guzzi 100W in comparison is only 46Wh, so I don't think it's will be right for this application.

I see a 12v 5 amp power supply, assuming the DVR draws 75 % of that capacity, ie 48 Watts, your UPS will last around 1Hr35 min. Based on the below information from their website.(60watt model)
  • Estimated Run Time (Single device connected):
    • ONU(3W): 21.6hrs
    • Router(10W): 6.5hrs
    • CCTV Cameras (10W): 6.5hrs
    • VoIP Phone(7W): 9.3hrs

No, this mini UPS is not going to work..

You are going to need something that will give you a 3 prong plug you can plug in for the CCTV.. and something with enough capacity to last through loadshedding..

My best guess is that your CCTV system draws up to 60w based on the pics.. though I can't tell if the cameras are powered separately or not.. if they are, you could be drawing more than 60watts..

Assuming it's only 60watts, you need something with a capacity of at least 150Wh (watt hour) to get you through loadshedding.. ideally double that though, so you don't drain the battery to 0 every time you use it..

Inverter trolley is probably the best bet, something like this upgrading to lithium batteries ideally..

The budget friendly option, but not a UPS, need to plug in and plug out..

Looks like the 60/100w Gizzu might do the job but it probably won't last the duration you need

Your DVR Power supply looks to be 12v 5A

It has the following output ratings:
* 5x 12V (5A)
You'd need at least 120Wh if your DVR uses the maximum power rated
