Globetrotter GT Max Data Card will not install

When I insert the device into my laptop, I get a message box that the software is being installed. This soon disappears and the software does not install.
I have tried navigating to the device (as a drive) and click on the "GlobeTrotterConnect" icon and the same thing happens!

How do I install the software?
