Maybe smokey would love to see him try in all honesty, i doubt he would get the time or space to do as well as he does in spain, the defending in england is far better than in spain who think football is all out attack and shout anti footie when a team plays a defensive game. I hope ronaldo goes to real madrid next season and man united buy ribery. Would love to see him have so much space and time to play.
I hope henry is back for barcelona because if they play how they played against chelsea the final will be over by half time, united have a far better attack than chelsea and would have ripped barca to shreds even when they had 11 men. Henry has become a key player for barcelona even though some said he had no talent in his first season at barce.
United have a great defense, awesome midfield and going forward they are amazing, i wonder how barcelona will counter a perfect mix? Unless barcelona do something remarkable in terms of the way they play english teams united would have proffered them in the final if you ask me. They look really crap against english teams so i am sure the bookies will have united as heavy favourites to win it.
As i said in my previous post. It is not that simple. Barca never looked crap, in fact Chelsea looked on the edge for 180 mins. They were so determined to keep Barca out it was unbelievable.
The flip side is, they devoted so much man power into defending that they had absolutely nothing in attack. The only attacks they had in the first and second leg, was to clear the ball up field and HOPE Drogba would out muscle the defence. It worked on a few occasions.
Chelsea never had a midfield in the Barca matches.So in my opinion, Chelsea looked like the weaker side. Most say Barca looked crap but for me Chelsea were on the back foot for 180 mins. Im sorry but to have 29% possession on your home field, thats just not good enough. Even when Barca went down to 10 men they dominating the game and Chelsea were running around like headless chickens.
For me, that is not a sign of a crap team.
In the final, if United were to push foward and Barca were to hit them on the counter, if Henry, Eto and Messi were to run at the United defence - i think they would crush it with ease.
Thats why it is so important that United have the 4 defenders, and midfield to stay back and defend. If that is case, then i cant really see where United would threaten Barca cos all of their man power will be at the back trying to keep Messi, Eto and Henry out.
Going to be interesting. If United do indeed adopt that strategy, i fancy Barcelona to eventually break the defence and win the match. Why is it that English teams cannot play a normal game against Barca?
United camped 10 men behind the ball last year and barely had a touch of the ball. Chelsea did it this year. I predict United to do it again this year.
