GMail and iBurst

Windows only. :(

Pidgin/Nimbuzz

also have gtalk clients.

Pidgin can run on Linux/Windows.

Not sure about Nimbuzz on Linux, but it can also run on most cellphones. I'm using it in place of ebuddy (**** interface). Very impressed so far.

For the past week or so, I've had issues logging into Gmail. It's either extremely slow, or simply never loads at all. More often than not, once it's loaded, the chat applet disconnects intermittently.

This happens on both my PCs, as well as my iPhone. It appears to be an iBurst issue, however, as loading Gmail on my phone using Vodacom doesn't turn up problems.

Gmail is terrible today, as usual the chat window is not working, but it is now taking ages to open a mail or the inbox.

I tried explaining this to one of their wonderful helpdesk idiots... his response.... "is google search engine working?" me "yes" him "Well then the whole internet is working" I put the phone down.....

I am still having issues with GMail and iBurst. I am in Durban. I am using Mac's and my main browser is Safari. It sems to load very slowly in Firefox, but never loads in Safari. It is not a GMail issue. Cos if I use my neighbours Telkom line GMail works perfectly fine. And GMail works perfectly fine on my Blackberry on Vodacom. So the only other factor can be iBurst. Everything else works fine on the internet except GMail. When I run speed tests it is fine. up: 0.92Mbs down: 0.30 MBps on speedtest.net. I have tried other machines in my home and all are doing the same thing. So it is not my machine which is the issue. It can only be something on the iBurst side. r00igev@@r can you please assist as I have been having this issue for the last 3 weeks

We have opened a ticket with google.

Is this supposed to have been resolved?

Using the Gmail web interface the chat window still shows this message most of the time:
Unable to reach Gmail. Please check your internet connection or company's network settings.

Chat windows works fine on Cell-C connection.

Doing anything on the gmail website is painful..... like clicking on sent items I get a yellow "loading..." at the top of the browser for a few seconds and then get a "Still working...." for a while longer then I get my sent items

Using gmail is just painfully slow
