GMail and iBurst

Doing anything on the gmail website is painful..... like clicking on sent items I get a yellow "loading..." at the top of the browser for a few seconds and then get a "Still working...." for a while longer then I get my sent items

Using gmail is just painfully slow
It is like this for me tonight. Normally it is OK for me, except for the chat window.

We have identified and issue where our traffic to Google is send to them via one path and returned via another. We have logged tickets with both providers to assist in resolving the issue.

It seems much better this morning, apart from the chat window of course.

It's getting worse again. GMail is frustrating the hell out of me ATM

Any updates on this r00i?

I will find out about the status of the ticket with da udder orange, tomorrow.
Any updates on this? Trying to use the Gmail web interface is extremely frustrating.

Is this problem local to Cape Town?

Seems like this problem has moved up to Jo'burg too... Gmail working blazing fast for a couple of minutes and then slows down.

It stays stuck on the "connecting to mail.google.com" phase

Something happened last night and gmail's been working perfectly for the past 24 hours. :D

Now that you mentioned it, I have noticed my google talk (in browser) has stayed connected longer than it normally does.

EDIT: suddenly it works??????? Must have been an Iburst issue!!!

Apologies for resurrecting an old thread.
For a while now I have been having issues when I try to send emails with attachments using Thunderbird (gets to 99%, sits there a while, then tells me its timed out).
I usually end up giving up and sending using webmail but it would be nice to resolve it.
Current settings: smtp.gmail.com
Port 465
Normal password
SSL/TLS

After reading around I even turned off my virus scanners outgoing mail scan - now (not even sure if its related) I'm getting this message: "ssl_error_bad_mac_alert"
Can anyone suggest what the issue might be?
Thanks
