I personally queried this with Google for custom domains in the past when Inbox was launched, but this looks random, it is also remarked as early access.

Did you set it in Domain Management or whatever it's called. An option that say you want to receive experimental/early features.

All sorted. I received an invite a while ago but couldn't use it due to it being sent to my Google Apps account and at the time it wasn't available for Google Apps. But I managed to download the app to my phone, just couldn't sign in. I tried signing in last night and it worked!
