Hi, was wondering if someone had experience with this...

I've linked 2 accounts so that it all comes into one inbox. The problem is that when you choose to send a mail with the second account address the recipient gets a message with the mail saying "This mail was sent on behalf of [email protected] ..." and its not a very professional name :o

Is there any way to set it so that this doesnt happen? Tnx

no idea.. i've seen that happen sometimes too

2 Things, did you select "Reply from the same address the message was sent to"
and did you verify the sending portion when creating the second account. Just tested one of my multiple accounts and works no probs. :)

I also have 2 accounts on gmail.

I never noticed because i never sent myself an email with the secondary account.

I just sent myself email to my work email with the secondary email and yes reads:
"[email protected]; on behalf of; [email protected]"

Just tested it once more to my office, From: Shows a proper display name and the proper e-mail, in the message source the sender is stated as [email protected]. But no reference within the e-mail about my account.

Unfortunately Gmail does it.
No workaround.
I have the exact same problem..

This is not a Gmail problem, I think it is an Outlook 2003/2007 problem. It has to do with which one is your specified default account.

no, it is a gmail "problem". check the message headers! the from and sender fields are set to different values:
From: account1
Sender: account2

Yeah I have the same issues, and also can't find away around it, pity, as it is so convenient.

In a sense, it's both a Gmail problem and an Outlook problem. Gmail inserts a (perfectly legitimate) value into your "Sender" header, which is your @gmail address. The Sender: header may be different than the "From" header. Most email software ignores the Sender header, but Outlook looks to see if it's different than the From header and, if it is, it changes the From: line to read "From: <sender> on behalf of <from>". As far as anyone has been able to find out, there is nothing you can do to change this.

There is a long and sometimes ill-tempered discussion of this at this Gmail help page and shorter, more helpful discussions here and here.
