**GMail on Bold 9780**

Had a problem trying to setup a GMail account on a Blackberry 9780 last night and continuously received an error indicating that the username or password is incorrect. I know for a fact that this isn't the case, because I can login to the account via a browser using the same credentials and since there is an option to display the password I can verify that this too was typed in correctly. I can setup other accounts on the same phone, but not a GMail one. I have setup many other GMail accounts in the past and have never experienced this issue - any ideas?!?

Make sure Imap and Pop3 is enabled on the Gmail interface

Then use something like http://www.mail2web.com/ to test the username and password + access to confirm if it's the phone or something else blocking it

Hmmm, both POP3 and IMAP are enabled on the GMail account.

I'll try again and use your suggestion of MAIL2WEB.

hrm weird.. do you perhaps have the 2 step authentication for google enabled? if so you need to generate a one time unique password for your mobile

Try logging into your Gmail account from a normal browser .... Gmail is probably displaying a Captcha OR it wants you to update security information. Both of these things cause errors when setting up accounts on mobile devices.
