Gmail on N95

Hi All,

New here, please help me with getting gmail on my N95.

I go to gmail.com/app on the phone but if I select download app I get a message saying format not supported or something?

What I need to do?

Menu -> Tools -> (App) Manager -> Options -> Settings:

Software Installation: 'On'
Online certif. check: off: 'On'

Hi All,

Sorry for the delay, I can only get online for short periods.

I did the 'tools / app mngr / options / settings - but my settings have:

Software Installation : 'All' or 'Signed Only' I have it on All
Cerificate check : 'Must Pass' or 'Of' or 'On' I have it on Of.

The exact error message is "Feed Format not supported"

ok old thread i know but i wanna use my N95's built in client to access my mail ... what settings do i use for incoming and outgoing mails servers ...

tried:

Incoming Mail (POP3) Server:
pop.gmail.com
Port: default

Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server :
mtn.mail.co.za (use authentication)
Port: default

Account Name: your Gmail username (including @gmail.com)
Email Address: your full Gmail email address ([email protected])
Password: your Gmail password

Are you sure you use the correct access point? if you can get to the google mail page you can get the mail.

i trieed with the above settings changes left the other setting at their default settings ... did not change the security options ... the phone just kind hangs there trying ot connect but nada

I do not think you can set your Google mail account as an e-mail account. You have to access Gmail trough their web server. There is a way to forward those to your normal mail but i am sure someone who's done it can comment!

got the incoming working .. had to change setting in my gmail account to "Enable POP for all mail (even mail that's already been downloaded)"

now need to get the outgoing mail server to work with the mtn.mail.co.za ... grrrrrr

check the gmail help files. the ports that gmail uses are not standard.

got the incoming to work with gmail ... outgoing is now the prob ... cant get it to work with MTN ... help!!!!!
