Gmail problems with iPhone

I have been using my iPhone to access gmail with the mail app for almost a year now with no problems.

However since yesterday I started getting an error message that user or pwd is incorrect. After deleting the account and adding it again it works for a while and then same error.

Anyone have any ideas why ?

It works sometimes from the mail app and everytime from the browser so the password is correct.
