Gnome at a crossroad - user revolt?

I installed Gnome 3 on Fedora last week and I was taken a back with the changes, like no minimise.
I'm getting used to it, its helping me to keep a tidy workspace.

Looks like they are going the debian way so expect to gnome3 and everything else but unity.

Read somewhere that they will be going Gnome 3 but not using Gnome Shell.
