Go Daddy hit by hackers

Looks like they're back up again. Bummer that those involved have messed with so many people and their livelihood - not nice.
 
coursera.org also seems to be hosted there. Got an email from them this morning.

Coursera as well as me and millions others use Godaddy for DNS which was also affected by the DOS attack.

The email from Coursera said they moved to Amazon's DNS services instead, they are not hosting there - just to be correct :)
 
This is the second time I heard of GoDaddy getting hacked. When I had my site by them, my site as well as other sites were hacked too.

They better tighten their security even more.
 
Anyone still hosting with godaddy deserves what they get.
 
also had problems last nite with services.... i use a service from a service that is hosted by them :-)
apparently this anonymous dude targeted the site because they are "openly supporting anti-piracy measures".... IMO its the same as any other issues... whatever your feelings are towards it, if you are unhappy about a person or company or organisation, feel free to show your disgust, but, like our striking workers, its not acceptible to f*k with innocent people's rights becuase you are not happy....

still... if you are as large a provider as i undertand godaddy is, then one would expect them to have proper security, or at least proper workaround measures to enable continuous service.
being completely offline for >hour is so last decade ;-)
