Privatise -- BUT -- Taxpayers cough up
Sorry eishkom, the fact that you cant even tell us who's steering the ship speaks volumes. Time to cut that cash cow and privatise.
Privatisation is seen as the BEE all and end all answer.
There is a
Golden Rule
The "buck" stops at the "man-in-the-street" because he/she has nonone else to pass it on to.
Whether the buck is being passed by the Gov / Sars / or the Private sector
Look at Transport
MetroRail / Transnet -- Rail transport is fscked --BUT -- transport HAS to happen -- so it is open to private enterprise.
So now there are hundreds of trucks on the roads
So now the roads start collapsing and have to be rebuilt
WHO pays for this -- NOT the stupid TOLL concessionaires or the BIG truck companies -- or the Gov.
It is little kiepie you and me one off taxpayer who has to foot the bill somewhere somehow along the line.
WHO is making the profits
SAA continues to need bailouts -- so we have private players.
The PAX numbers are up -- new airport buildings are needed -- new roads to access the airport -- new infrastructure etc etc
WHO pays for all this -- local authorities -- municipalities -- Metro's
OR "You and me"
So it goes -- similar principle right through all these so called privatised ( and semi-privatised ) industries.
TELKOM / TRANSNET / ESKOM / SAA ( and ALL their siblings )
Socialism and Monopoly Capitalism -- paid for by Joe Soap Taxpayer
"Privatise" -- another "code" word for rape the consumer / rape the taxpayer.
