I think it's safe to say that the Griquas have proven themselves as a strong and formidable force. After winning all 4 of their Currie Cup matches so far this season, 3 of them with bonus points, beating 2 of SA's top 4 teams (Cheetahs, Lions), they now rank far supreme on the Currie Cup log. Are we in for the greatest rugby upset ever?

They will putter out around the halfway mark ...... unfortunately they don't have the depth to see them to the end. Every odd year they record some big upsets but they fizzle, without fail, every year.

I'm rooting for them. The more strong teams we have the better it is for the couch potatoes like us. Their problem is that the bigger franchises are just going to poach away their talent and they can only buy the old good guys at the end of their careers so they never build on their successes.

The fact that griquas are doing well, is great for our rugby. The smaller sides must now step up and give the big unions a go. It's just a pity that when players perform from smaller unions, they get bought.

I'm rooting for the Griquas. Every year the Currie Cup is the same. Although I'm a die hard Blue Bulls fan, it's getting a bit boring. I want a nice big shock. Hope the Griquas can keep a few good players this season.

As long as they beat the Bulls twice, I'm happy ..........

Am i wrong in saying they have played weak opposition and please don't tell me the lions are not weak :D

Same. I actually wanted the smaller unions to melt together and make one team to compete. Thus we have 6 strong teams in the CC.

Griquas vs. WP at 3pm this afternoon. Will the Griquas cause a massive upset? Let's hope so.

Yeah SS only agreed to show it live after a lot of requests came in from the rugby supporters :D

Goooooo Griekwas!

woohoo! Go Griekwas! Keep us updated on the score plz?

I woulda - but then it got way to interesting to leave the TV (aka pub) to update. What a match-up. Province were lucky in the 76th to get a try that brought them to their bonus points because, sans that, they woulda left empty handed. Now, they pick up 2 (4 tries and less than 7 PD loss). GWK played hard (evidence by a yellow in the late part of the game) and fought to still break away for 4 tries but just missed.

Well done to them. Their real challenges, though, lie ahead.

Well done griekwas. 3/5 big games won! And 2 more coming up.

Hats off to the Griekwas!

Lol, it looks like they're well on their way this year huh .......... sadly that will end when they play the Sharks

I'm seriously psyched for today's game between the Griquas and Bulls. Difficult one for me. I'm a massive Blue Bulls fan, but yet I yearn for a shake-up in the Currie Cup.

Well the Bulls have already fallen two weeks in a row ... what's another week :D
