I concur: Goggaconnect is from hell...
I too want to register a complaint about Goggaconnect. After 24 painful months of unsatisfactory service and confusing statements and invoices, my contract finally came to an end ...or so I thought. I wasted no time in telling them that I want my contract DEFINITELY terminated and that they must please send me the final statement, which I got a few days later ...or so I thought. I then paid the outstanding amount stipulated on it and emailed a copy of the final bank transfer to them and informed them that I regard our business relationship as having ended (not a moment too soon may I add) ...or so I thought.
In October, out of the blue, I got a call from a debt collecting company threatening me with action if I 'don't pay the outstanding amount owed to Goggaconnect.' Over the past 6 months, since I ended my contract, I have not received a single statement or invoice informing me that I owed them any money. Yet they proceeded illegally to put a debit order through my bank account, without my knowledge, at a time when my account was empty, resulting in a penalty fee from my bank. Two more attempts followed, with similar results bringing the amount of penalty fees to R315!
I was then advised to report them on hellopeter.com. I got an email from Goggaconnect in response to that informing me: 'Please note that we are experiencing extremely high volumes of queries, we will attend to your query as soon as possible.' Why am I not surprised at the 'extremely high volume of queries'?
In the meantime I have gathered from another complainant on hellopeter.com that Gogga says they do not close accounts until they are fully settled. That I find very disturbing as I am told (by a lawyer-relative) that the banks say they cannot stop such a debit order and tell their customers it has to be done at the company with whom they signed up in the first place. Now, in who's opinion is a contract fully paid up and terminated, mine or theirs? Who's word carries most weight at the bank, mine or theirs? As the whole termination procedure was done telephonically and shortly afterwards by email, how do I furnish proof that I HAVE terminated my contract?
I have however not heard from them ever since, and hellopeter.com has also let me down in not sending a follow-up questionnaire regarding Gogga's response. In fairness it may be ascribed to it being this time of the year.
Believe me: YOU DEFINITELY DO NOT WANT TO DO BUSINESS WITH GOGGACONNECT! The statistics regarding Goggaconnect on hellopeter.com confirms that.
Anybody have good advice to offer in this matter?
