Going about selling a PC

I am a PC parts dealer/reseller, and I do a lot of second-hand buying/selling/advising. Second-hand parts generally follow 40 - 50% depreciation, so it's quite easy to work out. :)

It is risky, but your parts are still fairly in date and desirable. I would not worry. Worst comes to worse you will just have to reduce the price you initially wanted a bit. But the fact you split, and were able to sell each part at a higher price than if part of a bundle, would make up for the slight knock you would take.

Fair enough. Just something to think about too is, I'm guessing selling everything individually takes a bit longer than selling all at once? Unless I get the cash to cover the new build, I'll be PC-less for a while. Which is very bad, considering I need my PC for my degree. Seeing as you do a lot of advising, if someone wants to buy something similar to what I'm selling, please think of me and tell them they might have an option ^_^

But yeah, I've also made a new thread about the new build: http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthr...overview-advice-welcome?p=5981942#post5981942

Yes that's true.

But you could sell separate at a very good price to attract buyers quickly which will still get you more than selling the whole bundle (bundle = people will ask for a lower price).

Basically I would make an ad on Carbonite, say it's urgent and you're willing to split, possibly once everything's been "taken"; use the prices I gave you + add 5 - 10%, and say you're willing to negotiate. Or that a buyer who takes everything gets preference. Etc.. You can do what you want. :)

I decided not to sell my pc and just go for a new pc. I'm not getting my money worth for the system still performing this well.

Q9450
Zalman CNPS 9700 cooler
gtx280
MSI p45-platinum
corsair tx650w
cooler master cm sniper
2x2GB Apacer Giant II 1066MHz RAM

If I added all together postmanpot said I must ask around R4600 if I added it all together. I know its about right but I will be better of just save another R4600. I will be saving till ivy bridge came out by that time I will have enough money to buy new system and keep current one for data storage. or maybe just upgrade GFX.

Thanks for all the support guys. Argh, I'm having unexpected trouble with my financials though, so I sadly won't be able to get this ball rolling immediately :(

Problem why you gonna have trouble selling the graphics card at R1000+ is this

Although not many people aware of it so you might be able to up it to R1200

edit:
Just checked gumtree, R1250

The general price seems to be about R1200. I'll look around for requests like that though. Some guy was pushing his for like R1800 lol

I got your PM, just give me a few days to sort out my finances and decide if I'm going to commit :)
