Hi guys,

So I bought a wireless router and plugged my desktop UTD into one of the wired ports via ethernet cable. I entered all the iBurst settings in the router's setup but for some reason it fails to connect to iBurst? The connection on the router is set to PPPoE so that's not the issue.

Any ideas?
Cheers

Try changing MTU to 1392 or 1352... I think. Need to check.

Does the router have a WAN port?

yes it does that's where I plugged the iburst modem into. Set the MTU to 1392. It's asking for VCI/VPI settings as well. Isn't that ADSL? The bloke at the store told me you would be able to use iBurst with this router but now I'm starting to wonder. I need to share the iburst connection wirelessly that's why I bought it.

What's the routers model/make? I want to google it.

You cant use a adsl router on iburst. You needed to purchase a "broadband router".

I stll think this is a cable/DSL/ADSL router.

I'm not an expert on routers, but someone else will probably help you out.

If it's a ADSL router you can use it as a switch, but you won't be able to connect all you gadgets wireless...Eg iPhone 4

Damn. I wonder if Dion Wired will replace it for me as I feel it's their fault for providing me with the wrong information.

Well the sales person at DW is an idiot. Its their fault for giving you the incorrect router.

Does the back of your router look like this?

EDIT:

Went over to DW and they replaced it for me. Turns out they did in fact give me an ADSL-only router.

Problem sorted. Thanks for all the help. :)
