Going wireless with ADSL Marconi Router

Can someone advise? I have the Marconi router and a wireless ready laptop. I have been attempting to utilise a wirless access point to connect the laptop to the router as per advise I received. I can connect to all the devices via the existing lan connection but the laptop does not pick up the wireless connection.

Is the wireless AP plugged into the router (which model btw of the router and AP) or is the laptop connected to it ???.

remember the ip range... its very important with wifi

Yes, The wireless AP is plugged directly into the router.

Have you checked the SSID is the same on the router and laptop. And that you have not restricted the MAC address's etc. There are some good articles on the net for setting up and securing your wireless network .
