Gold Reef City sinking

So today a colleague told me that Gold reef city is sinking, so much that they only have +/-1 year of operation left. This is apparently due to the acid mine water issue in the jhb region. I haven't seen anything supporting this on the web in my searches.. Anyone have some info?

According to his findings, McCarthy said in 2011, possibly 2012, AMD will seep up through the main shaft at Gold Reef City, and this underground facility will be forced to shut down. Boksburg, he warned, could see acid mine drainage rising up through drainage points, spewing toxic filth into the town.

Seems his timing is a bit premature.
