Very strong year esp looking at all the GOTY Nominees this time:

Baldur's Gate 3 (winner)
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
Marvel's Spider-Man 2
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor
Alan Wake 2
Resident Evil 4 Remake
Cocoon
Starfield
Final Fantasy 16
Diablo 4
Forza Motorsport
Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon
Assassin's Creed Mirage
Super Mario Bros Wonder
Street Fighter 6
Metroid Prime Remastered
Hi-Fi Rush
Lords of the Fallen
Dead Space Remake
Sea of Stars

I expected BG3 to get a couple awards, but seven is damn impressive. Hopefully this will open the eyes of studios and see that crpgs are not dead.

Starfield my 2023 released GOTY, Cyberpunk by far the best game I've played this year.

Can only think of 3 games I've played that were released this year. Starfield, Star Trek Resurgence and The Expanse. Space games only lol. Expanse and Star Trek are def not goty material but they were nice and cheap.

I mostly buy games a year or two after their release dates.

You should give BG3 a go. It's fantastic. Good game to play with friends as well, I've been having a jol playing with others. It's interesting to see the different paths people take in terms of actions, dialogue etc.

I really really hate turn-based games eg: I tried Divinity Original Sin and hated it with a passion.
So will def try it one day but only once it goes on sale some day.

Did I mention that I hate turn-base combat?

I also don't love them. It's the only one I've given any time to. No regrets. Also, it's only turn-based in combat, the rest is free roam.
