Golf 5 1.6 Trendline

Any feedback on the below would be a great help.

My parents are interested in purchasing a 2005 Golf 5 1.6 Trendline with 150 000kms on the clock. Car comes with FHS and current owner purchased it new. Seller wants R60k for it.

What you guys think? worth while deal or pass?

Great price & great all rounder. There is a reason there is so many on the road. Trendline spec is a bit sparse though but for the price it's a solid deal.

Great price considering the mileage, one owner and FSH. Spares wise it's a relatively simple vehicle to maintain.

Just check for the usual sludging in the engine and if the car is using the proper coolant.

Thank for the advise. Will take a mechanic with to check it. Thanks for mentioning the coolant, I didnt think of this.. read up that it must be red and not green.

Think its specific to VW and the year the vehicle was manufactured. Found some info on the link below

A colleague of mine at work is selling it so I am getting a "friends" discount

I was just a bit worried about the age and mileage...

I have a friend that purchased the 1.6 Comfort Line in March. It was R80k for the car which had done 190,000 km(FSH). The car looked great but the rims were buckled and the aircon unit was stuffed up and the owner was using ordinary water in the radiator.

After a regular service that car runs like a dream
