Hi Guys

Just a quick one, need some advice on if the G6 GTI Edition 35 is a good buy?
Also the Maintenance costs, Resale value and anything else you guys think would be good to know thanks :confused:
 
Shyte buy...

Crap car as well...

Rather save your money and buy a Citi Golf.. they're faster, have better resale value, are easier to maintain and bigger panty droppers.
 
The one major advantage of the ED 35 is its resale. It's limited numbers & more (stock) power give it an even better resale value than the excellent resale of the G6 GTI.
 
It's a GTI so resale value will be great as long as you don't pay too much to begin with.

Maintenance costs directly related to where you take it, but loads of VAG specialists around.
 
Good cars they are, just take care of it.
Plenty of options to mod it.

Noooo don't do it! In ancient Chinese cultures 35 is considered bad luck!!

That's what I was thinking... been shopping around, would you suggest the DSG or manual?

Heard about Vagspec Centre... asked for a major service quote. Was just over 3k. From your experience is this reasonable ?

I can't comment on them in particular, but no that sounds a bit rough and I want to say VW direct might even be cheaper.

Major service for me was about R1800 last time round and that included something minor that wasn't part of the usual schedule.

Paid about R3500 for the recent cambelt service but that was with the minor service included as well.

Was this at VW dealership or a vag specialist? For that price was the water pump changed along with the cambelt ?

No at a specialist.

And no not including the water pump. (But I can't remember for exact certain).
