Just a quick question, what is the maximum mileage you can do on a Golf 6, I'm currently on 148000KM is that still fine? The car has done all services and has been well maintained.

148 000km already?

You cutting it fine man; G6 designed for ~150 000km.

I would seriously looking at shifting it for a G7 or so.

Why are people so scared to drive cars with high mileage if you've been the only owner? My student car did 300 000km and my current car (2008 model) has 160 odd thousand.

My polo is just over 180k on the clock and everything that can go wrong has or is in the process of going wrong. It's annoying things too like from leaking thermostat to the interior light button has jammed the light on so I had to pull the fuse.

My G6 had 88000 when I ditched it. Apparently the timing chain had been change thrice by the previous owner and was getting noisy again.

Consumption test currently being done on my G7. Needless to say I won't be buying a VW anytime soon again.

A Polo did 1 million KM a few years ago.

the engine has never been opened. Its clutch, starter, alternator, exhaust system, radiator and oil pump are all original.

There is no maximum mileage. It's how well the vehicle is maintained and driven.

Look after your car and it will look after you.

If you look under the bonnet there's a "Best before mileage". This is similar to the best before date on your milk carton except the information refers to distance travelled instead of time. HTH.

Yes, oil. Only read of one other person with a similar problem online. Oil just disappearing, no leaks, smoke or anything. Time for a Corolla.

Corolla would be unlikely to use any oil, mostly because you would be too embarrassed to drive it in public!

Keep on doing regular services and keep it well maintained and it will go on forever.
