Hi all, Please help,
Recently purchased a golf 7 tsi dsg with 41000km on the clock and this week started hearing a whining noise when parking the car off.... In first gear only,
Is this normal for a dsg?
The sound is similar to when a manual slips out of gear when you don't engage it properly,

If its the same noise I'm thinking of, I hope it still has its warranty. That definitely needs to be taken back to VW

The other threads were before i bought the car. ... If this thread is in your way simply don't open it. ....

Bromster please describe your noise and experience. ... What Was the problem with yours?
I only get this when parking and not when taking off or normal driving

It's under warranty. Take it to VW, let them assess.

We are not mechanics. Most of us are in IT, so I think my advise will probably be the best you will get on here.

Just chipping in to say that the wife had 2 new golf 7 dsg's that came with a whining noise. Apparently this is a feature on the car and depending on which forum members you speak to they should make a noise.

The first one broke down on us and vw took it back, we got rid of the second after it started the same ****.

Parking...DSG...noise...in 1st gear? I'm confused.

Please explain exactly when you gear the noise and doing what action.

You should be parking it in Park...not in Drive which would explain a problem in the first place. In fact if you are parking it in 1st how are you getting the key out?

Brake, Park, Switch off.

Is this on a level surface? Might be the car is disengaging the clutch to try and climb up the hill.

Sorry for the confusion,

To clarify, i meant i hear this noise sometimes when in the process of parking using first gear,

Once parked i do put it in Park and switch off

You obviously need to take it to a dealer to inspect if you claim it's something abnormal.

If you live in GP , VW Hatfield Bryanston are experts.

My comment was based on that grinding noise on a manual when your car isn't in gear correctly and it jumps out then you release the clutch. I don't see how that can be normal on an auto.

That aside, I was in the golf 7 R recently, parking many times and never noticed a noise like that.
