Odd that a search on golf only produces results of the vw kind.
Any members here playing?

There was a thread stare teddy about 2mths ago. I think McT started it.
Yip love the game. Just don't get to play often.

Here you go. Got to play in the Sharks golf day yesterday at Mowbray which was awesome. Shot an 89; a sub 90 round for the first time in about 3 years!

We'll i just finished up a weekend of golf, wedding, and golf again.
Shot 114 which is horrible but also my best so far.

Where do you guys lie on playing with new balls only Vs the shady caddy bought ones.

I don't ever buy from guys on the course (caddies or otherwise). I also don't buy new (unless there's a ridiculous special on somewhere). I go to www.wegotballs.co.za. They sell refurbished name brand balls which serve my purposes. Until the day I can spin a golf ball or manufacture a shot, I'll stick to these :D

Sigh, should never have started with this. Just gave a very good salesman my money for a rbz driver.

Always play with the same ball.
Different balls will cause inconsistencies and that is a key part of the game.
Pinnacle Gold is my current ball.

Well different drivers don't do much for me. Spend 40min hitting everything they let me, rbz, cobra, Nike, aero burner, m1, Titleist d7, Callaway x etc. Some new, some not.
And I do 220m if hit nicely with basically all of them.

If I can add an additional piece of advice...

Don't waste your time (or your money!) buying clubs at the outlets! Go get fitted for clubs. Professional bespoke places will analyse aspects of your swing (speed, plane etc) and make clubs that suit your style. One of the biggest reasons people give up on golf is that they get duped by a sales pitch about how "these clubs will knock 10 shots off your round" when in fact the clubs are not congruent with that player's specific swing.

Dustin Johnson, Rory McIlroy or Jason Day would never go into The Golfers Club and buy a set of irons off the shelf so why should you...

Dunno if it will make much of a difference at my skill level.

Hit that driver a bit today, and it is nice n stiff.
Way less of that ridiculous fade I have come to master!

Played Eye of Africa today.
Fanciest course I've ever played.
Also unforgiving; you miss the fairway, you loose your ball.

Played it last week. You must play Copper leaf and SERENGETI. Also a must to play and a lot more forgiving

Serengeti is prob next on the fancy list.
In the meantime i need to focus more on accuracy than distance.

Golf is a great sport, don't watch as much as i used to years ago,but i do still watch the majors.

Haven't played in about 4 years,i actually told a mate of mine this week that we should go play sometime.

I have a basic spalding iron set, with a callaway diablo driver and a 52 and 60 callaway wedge.

I play with Titleist Pro V1 balls

2 things happened today.
Entered my first club competition coming in 2 weeks.
And right after had my absolute worst driving range day.
