Good Android programming books?

Can anyone suggest a good beginners guide to android programming.

I'm not a seasoned programmer but know my way around a few languages (sadly java not being one of them) I could easily whip a VB.net app together. (Note to self. Google google VB.net to android)

I've got a few simple projects I'd like to start working on hopefully make a mint one day. Lol

Since android is Java based should I first start at the basics and learn Java?

I find a book is a good way to get an end to end view. Working from the internet sometimes leave gaps. Personally I liked this book:

After that, the internet is a good source to dive deeper into areas of interest.
