Hi there. I'm on the lookout for a nice venue to host a birthday bash at in the Pretoria area, but I'm drawing a blank. It's for a 36th, so it's not a huge big official milestone with the whole family and friends and everything kind of do, but it would be nice if it could accommodate quite a bunch of people (~30 - 40).
The guest of honour is looking for sort of a pub-vibe, which could then also become a club-vibe (although the club route can always be relocated to for those so inclined later). What I was thinking is I know I've been to a few restaurants where the restaurant itself has sort of a "conference" room/area which one can book out. Then you can still get the restaurant/pub vibe but have a room to yourself where the waiters etc. look after you and your guests, everyone can still sort out their own drinks and food (with a possible platter or two in the mix) and you don't have to worry about cleanup and catering as with a big proper conference venue / some community hall.
Problem is some of the places I've seen this were nowhere near Pretoria, or it's too long ago for me to remember any.
If anyone has any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it. Preferably in the Lynnwood / Pretoria East area, but most of greater Pretoria should be fine.
