Good buys?

Seems a little expensive for a 2006, although S-line package does make a difference. It's also listed on autotrader: http://search.autotrader.co.za/www/...age_RANGE=0&source=&sort=5&id=200843185309417
http://search.autotrader.co.za/www/...age_RANGE=0&source=&sort=5&id=200844185330289 similar mileage for similar price, so yeah, seems average. Try and negotiate to get the price down a bit. There is a slump in the market so dealers are more likely to negotiate.

Yeah i'm interested in the red one.

Just read about turbo problems etc. on the 1.9TDI - and a little worried..

Unfortunately that's the luck of the draw when buying a second hand car. If the car was not driven correctly then the turbo may experience problems. Many people don't actually know how to drive turbo diesel cars, hence the problems.

a friend of mine is selling a 2002 Polo Classic, neat, R39k neg

The last dealer I spoke to (end of September), regarding a demo car with under 500km's on the clock told me the price was going up in October. Yes, amazingly a second hand car was going up in price. I was made aware of this after telling the dealer I didn't want to go through with the deal due to personal reasons.

That's the most idiotic sales tactic I have ever come across. He was expecting me to change my mind so as to not "lose out" on a great offer. Lower the price moron, then you'd have had a deal. :D

Surely with the slump in sales of late, making a few thousand rand fewer is better than making none at all?
