I was wondering if anyone knows of a cook book with fairly simple to intermediate recipes that dont require 5000 ingredients and have ingredients that are easily accessible here in SA also be for small amounts of cooking like 1 to 2 people.

I've just taken up cooking as a hobby so I would like some suggestions.

Have you looked at cooking websites? Most have some easy recipes and ingredients that you can find at most stores

Jamie Oliver''s 30 minute meals is pretty good. The meals are simple enough and don't take that long to make (although with cooking and cleaning they take longer than 30 mins, unless you are Jamie Oliver :))

websites websites websites..
Rashes me to no end when my family cant accept that you can get recipes off the internet and bug me for the recipes that i used.
Places like bbcgoodfood and jamie olivers one are brilliant places to start. After that just type what you want and look at the first few results.

If you must have cookbooks take a look at jamie olivers. One of the few ones i find that when you finish your dish actually looks like what he shows. His new comfort food one looks good. Havent looked at the book but the tv show has been good.

there is a CB called "Knuppeldik aan Koningskos" that is quite nice. it is also called Fit for a King (Eng version).

which websites are good or do you just google what ever you in the mood to cook. I got Jamie oliver's 30 minute meals the show not the book is there more content in the book ?

Kook En Geniet / Cook & Enjoy...

Classic SA book that covers everything from "how to boil an egg" to serious stuff.
