I'm planning to get a E6420 which I would like to overclock, since these seem to be easily overclockable.

What is a good value for money MB that can handle overclocking, and similarly, what RAM should I get?

gigabye ga-p965-ds very good overclicking board for it price

try and buy 965 chipset board

transend ram is also very good

Is the Team Elite ram 800mhz? Is it good enough for overclocking?

Yes it's 800 mhz and yes it's good for over clocking. Not as good as team extreem but at R1700 it's very good value. If you can afford it go for extreem else elite is very good.

What is the difference between the gigabye ga-p965-ds3 and gigabye ga-p965-s3. About R400 on price.

overclockers.co.za

The guys at overclockers.co.za used that motherboard to overclock an Intel E6300 to 3.5Ghz. They couldnt get it 100% stable with prime95, but it worked for the most part.

Checkout the article here.

yip i have that board got to 3.22ghz

any higher and it goes backwards

i had it at 3.4 but it was slower than 3.2ghz

i want the e6320 with the 4 meg cache :)

Asus Striker Extreme with Nvidia Nforce 680i chipset.
Corsiar Dominator or XMS2 ram.

Im thinking of getting the E6600 is that also a good card and i need it to last at least 2 years..

and where the quad cores overclocked as well because i find it hard to believe that the E6300 overclocked could beat the x6800 maybe default but not overclocked

the e6600 is the best value vs performance cpu in the range. It overclocks good as wel

Does anyone know the model number for the Team Elite DDR2 800 ram mentioned earlier? Or any alternate ram thats fast enough?

Checked. The CPU mark values for the X6800 and quad core are stock. Only E6300 is be'in overclocked.

X6800's are way over priced. Not even worth it if they could overclock to 5Ghz.
