I can get a 160GB PS3 with 15 games for R2000. The console is 3 months old. It was originally bought in Australia. I tested it with local games and it works.

I guess that it probably won't work with local Blueray dvd's, or am I wrong?

Oz is in the same region as SA for Blu-ray. Dunno about the DVDs though as Oz is in different region for that.

Region B includes most European, African and southwest Asian countries plus Australia and New Zealand.

I would grab it with both hands. Just go buy yourself a big hard drive and keep the 160GB as a safe backup. HDD is user swappable.

Yes, 2.5" SATA drive as found in laptops.

Just double check the height of the drive before purchasing. The bigger drives (I think 640GB - 1TB) are slightly thicker than the smaller ones.

A 5400rpm drive (which is what is in there already) will also run cooler than a 7200rpm drive, something to keep in mind.

didn't sony remove the hdd swap function with the last update?..

Deal and a half, grab it before sanity gets to the seller. You sure its not stolen ?

No, that was a firmware bug as far as I'm aware and it has been rectified via an update. Something like that would render you PS3 useless if the hard drive ever died.
