Hi guys,

Can anyone recommend a good estate agent in Johannesburg who looks after Randburg and/or Fourways?

I'm looking to buy a property, and I'm thinking somewhere out there, there must be a good agent who is willing to do some work. Ie, take me to view properties.

@Ancalagon Why not try sheriff of the court the list comes out every Friday if not mistaken normally advertised in Citizen and you will save a few thousands like R100 - R200 K but the problem will be is to pay the outstanding utility, eviction and do renovations. http://www.randburgdirectory.co.za/home/services/legal/sheriff-randburg

Have you gone to show houses in the area ? Also buy Saturday Star normally they do have a list of property show houses in the area. Put your name down on the list and how much you looking to spend etc.

Thanks.

I thought that, if you buy a house on auction, you have to pay a deposit before bidding, and then get a bond within 24 hours, and if your bond is not approved, you lose your deposit. How is it true?

No, haven't gone to show houses. I just wanted an agent to take me to see several houses in one day - is that not how it works anymore? Are agents too lazy to sell?

estate agents act in the interest of the seller - they are trying to maximise their commission, so they will try to get the highest price they can out of the buyer.

There is no such thing as a good estate agent. Stay away from Jawitz properties, especially in Randburg.
