Hey, was thinking of having a LAN party with a couple of friends... but all the classic are getting quite old... so I was wondering if there are any new PC LAN-able games that I didn't know about?

I did actually think of that it seems like it would be loads of fun at a LAN party the thing just is that I can't see anyway to LAN it...(I'm talking about the Beta here if the full game has been released I have not been keeping myself completely informed)

Have you got access to the internet at your LAN? If so you could always just setup something like Tunngle to play online co-op games through the LAN. Not many games have LAN as a networking option these days, which sucks hard.

Borderlands 2 which is coming out soon is supposed to be lannable. Also worth trying out prey if you missed it

It would have internet access the big problem is though that connection gets really congested and pings skyrocket when you have too many players on the same line.

If Borderlands has a LAN option I would definitely try that and as for Prey I geuss I never noticed it before... will definitely give it a try.

If Borderlands 2 is LANable, it will most definitely require an active internet connection. Gone are the days of offline LAN only games, better accept that fact.

I've always loved to lan HAWX. it can take only 8 players at a time, but it's a hell of a lot of fun

I would recommend perhaps the old Counter-Strike. Quake 3 is always fun and so is the old Battlefield.

Come to think of it, I haven't been to a LAN since about 2001 probably :(

Brink is quite good as well, I didn't like the single player at all, but it works well for multiplayer

C&C Generals, Company of Heroes, Age of Empires3, CS-Source and Warhammer 40k still work on lan - played all of them recently.

Ya I miss my lans with my friends, especially the days with dota, but then we left school, got jobs and moved around:( but then again lans also did suck, cause not everyone would have the game and you'd spend half the night just copying the game to eachother.

we normally distribute a list of planned games in advance to everyone can prep their machines before hand :)

Can the CS_Go play offline in LAN mode. I got my CS from steam.

I know you asked for new games but C&C: Generals Zero Hour is still my all time favourite lan game. So many mods and custom maps. Never got bored of it.

GLA Toxin general FTW!
