Good Mid-Range Graphics Card

Looking for a good card that will play most new games on mid-res, at least. Any ideas?

It's really just about how much you want to spend.

For less than R3,000 you can get a a 270x which will run BF4 60 fps at high and 1600x900.

What is your budget?

My budget is between R1200 & R2500, mainly use my PC for HD movies and the ocassional game. Always preferred nvida, but I guess I'm willing to go for whichever offers more for the price.

ding ding ding, we have a winner. Sadly as a linux user I could never buy AMD GPUs, the driver support is just not on par with nVidia. I wish it was not so.

Yip, 270x is a great card, got one myself, plays BF4 on max settings at 1680x1050.

AMD R9 270X should do BF4 at 1080p on high-ultra settings.
