I really need to get a new bed. I wake tired and my back is stiff and sore. WHere is the best place to buy a bed in cape town and what beds makes and models do you guys recommend. I got a budget of 10k.

I use a Simmons Beautyrest with pocketed coils.
No idea what they go for now but we bought ours for around R12 k a few years back.
Best investment I ever made.
I had bad back problems until I changed my mattress and pillows.
We have used the simmons pillows as well as the orthopedic pillows.
I find the orthopedic pillows to give the best support.

I have heard of Simmons, good brand. Cool. Where did purchase the simmons beautyrest?

I bought my Serta from Dial a Bed - got an extra length queen size for about 11K in 2011. It's been dubbed #hellobed for being so comfy and amazing.

It is a pocket coil spring firm mattress with a quilted topper built in. It was an extra high mattress base also... no idea what it's called, as they change the names every year anyway, but that bed has been my best investment

Hmm, serta I have never heard of it before. However seems like pocket coil makes a difference.

Thanks for the info :)

I want to buy a new bed.

But I first need to buy house with more than one bedroom which I can put my old one in.

The old one is still good, but just not good enough anymore. It's about 7/8 years old.

So the question becomes base or regular bed...

What's the definition of regular?
Not a base bed...

I honestly don't know what the proper name is

We bought a bed like that sometime back. The bed itself is solid. Mattress could be better. That'll just need to wait an whole till the money is available to upgrade.

Bru, do a hard days physical work and you will even find a foam mattress on the floor comfortable. If you still don't go see a doctor.
White mans problems, etc.

Screw pocket coil and all that bull****.

Been there done that spent 10k and got all the magic pocket coils and modern tech latex box top and all that because it's super comfortable and all that.

Endless fight to return it.

Soft is BAD.

Go buy yourself a good old foam Cloud9 with a wee layer of memory foam on top. The hardest mattress you can find.

The first night you'll ask yourself what the hell were you thinking. The second night you will be snoring away and doing so for the next 20 years on the same mattress which will still be perfect.

Pocket coils are like the solution to a problem that doesn't exist. Like the Americans with their space pen while the Russians use a pencil.

You don't need any of that **** that won't let you feel your partner move etc If you stick to foam.

Tafelberg Furnishers if in Cape Town.

If buying a bed look at the Sealy range... I went to Dial-A-Bed this weekend and had a look at sub R10k range of beds and the Sealy's still come out top. The Sealy has a new Gel Foam range which keeps you cool and acts as a memory foam layer to keep you comfortable. The mattress I chose is firm, has anti-bacterial fabric, side supports, a new hinged action coil system.

Some of the other beds I looked at was:
Serta - If you want one that will last long then you will have to spend a lot as the bottom of the range ones are more suitable for guests and kids.
Edblo - 10 year ago technology and feel
Dunlopillo - too soft for my liking
King Koil - the pillow top was soft and comfortable, but I was afraid that it may get softer with use and have a sagging feeling after a few years.
