Well since i am not getting any suport on my bad latency from MTN i seek answers elsewere.

I am thinking of replacing my mtn software with the fabricators software.

Had good latency till the 7.2 upgrade(downgrade)
 
Well my E220 was using VMC and I changed the software and now I am using the Mobile Connect software found on the Huawei site and it works pretty much fine and I am also using the MDMA software. Well in fact you have quiet a number of options you can use to connect your E220.

I like the MDMA software much coz it also displays which tower is the modem using as well as the dBm and if you are connected to GPRS, EDGE, 3G or HSDPA and also shows a number of details and you can monitor all that while you are connected.

I doubt a firmware upgrade would affect latency. More likely a [temporary] network issue.
 
Hey guys

What is the difference between the files listed on the Hauwei site? Other than Mac and Windows drivers. Which one should I flash?

Also, if I want to go back to the MTN firmware, where can I download this? I see it's been a couple months now and still nothing on the MTN site.
 
i used the windows one with latest date next to it, works fine.
 
Just a question for you guys though.

Does the Dashboard change anything ?

I mean al you need to connect is the drivers for the harware - Datacard.
Thus you can download the driver and create a manual connection without using the dashboard.

I can't see that the dashboard has anything to do with anything :o
 
Pitbull, you're right, the dashboard is just an interface. It doesn't affect the connection at all. I just find the Huawei dashboard more user-friendly. Nothing wrong with setting up a manual connection. The UI does show all the useful stats tho, like connection time, speed, amount dl'ed, etc.

O ok, think I misunderstood his question :o

I prefer to run my connections manually. Ever since my dail-up days :p
