Good quality twin LNB for dualview PVR

I'm asking this question on behalf of a friend who bought a HD TV and who now wants to convert to dualview.

He would appreciate any advice on the best quality LNB to get and where to get it. Bear in mind that he's in the northern suburbs and most probably wouldn't want to venture too far out to get it.

Yes, get a "Chess". In a previous setup a tree started growing into the line between my dish and the sat ... I started experiencing a drop in signal strength and could not really move my dish, but this LNB completely sorted the problem ... doesn;t even lose signal in bad weather. The Chess is a bit more expensive than your everyday LNB's, but it makes a world of difference ... also received very good reviews on the internet across the world. I will get back to you with the exact model number. Bought it from the installation guys next to Hi-Fi Installations in Centurion ... will try and find their contact details.

Thanks for that. I neglected to mention that he's in the northern suburbs of the Western Cape :D. Would your contacts know of any distributors down here?
 
Mmm ... sorry. Btw I have the Chess Edition II dual LNB ... think they now have a III as well ...

Give "Quantum Theory" on this board a PM ... he is from Space TV CPT and very helpfull.

what LNB does he have now?
and they prety much all the same no matter waht the installers say, i bought a veccom twin LNB it was chaep (R290) and use it on for my HD pvr and it works great.
i buy from ZAktronics online - http://www.zaktronics.co.za not sure what they charge for delivery to capetown

Just go to a Pick n Pay Hypermarket or somewhere and buy a LNB.
 
And a word of advice ... save yourself some money and install it yourself.
I had made an appointment with Skyvue Installations in Claremont, Cape Town to come and sort out my dish as I had lost my signal. Three days later I am still waiting for them to either arrive or to call to apologise for being late for the appointment!!!
On Sunday I ran out of patience and bought an LNB at Builders Warehouse ... and did the job myself in 5 mins and saved myself close to R450.00!!
