Good quality USB hub.

Hi,

I need to get a decent USB hub for my Macbook Pro. I need at least for USB slots and it need to provide power. I have a couple of bollocks ones that don't work for everything, for instance: an external drive will light up but it will not mount (I assume this is to do with low voltage) and my mechanical keyboard does not get enough power from it, period.

I'm not too fussy about USB-C/Lightning adapters, it's dongle city up in here anyway and I don't mind spending a bit but I'm so sick of spending like R400 on something that's just frikken landfill in the end.

I need to connect hard drives and MIDI controllers mostly. I also have a second monitor.

Any suggestions?

I've used a hootoo for a good while with no issues

I've got one of these (only three ports though) and it works reasonably well. External keyboard, mouse and HDD all connected and working fine.

Volkano X Core Hub Series USB Type-C to 3x USB 3.0 plus Powe - Incredible Connection

But I need something with HDMI out so there is another one on the way.
