I'm in Cape Town, been quoted for the following:

Case: Aerocool Masstige-A Gaming Case Black
(Well they quoted me R450, but for the I-Curve, which is the wrong one)

PSU: [OM-500W] OMEGA MEGAPOWER 500WATT Modular Cabling P4 / AMD ATX Power Supply, 2 X 80MM Cooling Fans...
(Again quoted me R292.41, bt for the wrong one, the IS-PM500W, which is not modular)

CPU: Intel E2180 R856.44

RAM: KingMax 2GB DDR2-800 Special (2x1GB) R899

HDD: SEAGATE BARRACUDA, 250GB, SATA2, 16MB HDD, 7200.10 Perpendicular Series R713.48

Mouse+Keyboard: Gigabyte Slimline Bundle GZ-PKM1A-00R R128.66

Motherboard: Gigabyte 945GCMX-S2 R518.54

Optical: Samsung SH-S203B (Offering the SH-S183L/RSBN for R292.41, but I don't need or want Lightscribe)

Screen: LG 194WT R2117.05 (Put up another thread asing for better/cheaper alternatives)

Thanks to anyone who can help/advise me!

some aspects are a bit outdated. depending on the amount you want to spend, i would go for a newer motherboard with intel Q35/P35 chipsets and not 945. the q35/p35 supports 1333mhz fsb so you can upgrade to the newer 1333mhz fsb cpu's later.

hdd: price difference between 250gb and 320gb is very small. i'd rather go for the 320gb

Ahoy, well that board apparently also supports 1333mhz fsb chips, and I'll be adding my 7900gt to it.

Would it be cheaper to go with 667mhz RAM!?

Tryin to save as much cash as possible, hence the 250GB, plus it's plenty big for me :)

Goin for a cheap as possible, OC as much as possible system..

ahh ic. it says it can boot with 1333mhz cpu. whatever that means. i know with my supplier 667 and 800 ddr differs by R20 per 1gb module.

Ah ok, cool, I'll stick with the 800 then :).

GIGABYTE GA-G31MX-S2, seemed to be well recommended, and only R250 more, supports 45nm chips etc.

Think that's a better option..

Ye true dude, I'll look into that, bt I think I'll keep the CPU and Mobo as it is now. Looking to get the E2180 to +/- 3.5GHz.

Ye this is the Masstige-A Gaming case, has a large window.. Well they're very similar, except urs I think has the board on the opposite side of the case..

If you wanna overclock definately go for the P35 chipset, 945 is no good for overclocking, i dont think the other gigabyte board you posted (GIGABYTE GA-G31MX-S2) board will be much better either as mobo's with onboard VGA have never been known to overclock well.
When overclocking one area you can't skimp in is the mobo, esp if you wanting to take that 2180 to 3.5

R300 for a 500W PSU :eek::eek::eek:

You are basically buying a 500W bomb for you PC

go with a decent brand PSU, that won't fry your PC . An Antec 380W should be overkill for you anyway.

Gimme a PM, if you are in the Northern suburbs, I can help you out.
